I would seriously recommend making/buying a camber gauge. you will never know exactly where you sit buy just counting the shim stack you use. A cheap way to make a decent camber gauge is to get a piece of 1x1 square tube, length equal to the diameter of your wheel(measure your wheel from outermost edge to outer on the other side, dont just use the manufacturer diameter) and but a cheap digital protractor(home depot or lowes). With the car on flat ground, put the bar vertical against the wheel, if you measured correctly the bar will only touch the wheel, not any of the tire, now put the protractor against the bar, vertical as well. you will get a reading close to 90 Degrees, if you get say 88.2, your camber # is 1.8, your looking for the number needed to reach 90 You might be able to set the protractor to read 90 at vertical, this will give you the actual camber # on the gauge.

on a car that still sees the street i wouldnt go more than 1.5 on the front camber and toe set at 0. front toe out is good on the track but makes the car wander on the street. rear camber somewhere between 1.5 and 2 and 1.5mm in(per side) on the rear toe.

Remember, this is just a decent place to start, more agressive will make the car twitchy(espessially on the street/ uneven pavement) and the tires wear more quickly but give you better turn in and more grip

hope this helps...

I can second everything that supreme said. If you would like, you can bring it by our place in Daytona (BGB Motorsports) and we would be glad to string your car up and do a proper track alignment for you.

Shoot me an email if you're interested and have fun at Road Atlanta!

MKK62, If anyone in your state can get your car to handle great on the track while still retaining some street manners its BGB!!

When the car i run (crew for Schroeder/Lally) won the GS class at Iowa guess who was giving us heavy pressure most of the race??? John Miller and Graig Stanton.

John, I also #1 mechanic for the #65 GT car Craig runs with us( when Koni doesn't conflict) , what a GREAT guy!!!!

Supreme, thanks for the kind words! Craig is indeed an awesome guy, I thought we were gonna get you there for a few laps when Craig passed Andy...

I'm good friends with Duncan who drives with Spencer in the 39 car, glad to see another fellow Koni guy on here! Will you be on Craigs GT car in 09 as well? I was at the test days this past week... though, with the "other" Porsche GT team.

If i remember correctly, at VIR you were over at our trailer during the autograph session, chatting with Scott, Duncan, Spencer, Jason(old team manager) as well as myself and Steve Phillips(we worked on the #41 all year) , im sure you would recognize me on sight.
