I would move #4 to #1 with the SRF being an extremely close second. This is all very good advice.

I am a PCA and NASA instructor. Both organizations are great and will offer excellent instruction. Keep in mind that NASA has many more events during the year though. Typically, the organization's leaders will coordinate and your driving experience will transfer over if you sign up for either organization's events.

 

+1 on the addiction thing, still cheaper than others.


If you decide you like to track more than a couple times a year, add a cooler for the transmission to your mods list. I found out why.


Alignment with more negative camber, R-comps and adjustable LCAs will make the most noticeable difference from stock once you learn the car and decide you want to spend more time at the track.

 

Most of the clubs like PCA and NASA are structured to encourage and teach newbies, and to keep them (and their cars) safe. Usually it isn't insane, full-throttle, 10/10 th's driving the first or second time out, and if it is you should dial it back a bit. Do the basic maintenance and safety checks on your car, and go out and enjoy it. And prepare to develop an addiction!
