roadtrip from San Jose CA to Orlando FL, need ideas

Hey guys, a buddy and I are flying out to San Jose to pick up his '05 4S Cab and drive it back to Orlando FL. If you guys have any recommendations on places to stop along the way, feel free to shoot them at me. I'd like to try and drive through Las Vegas and Albuquerque along the way, but if you guys know a good drivers route (lots of mountains and twistys) let me know. Also, any side stops for solid entertainment is also welcome. As a note, my buddy is 19 (lucky bastard, right?) so nothing for 21+.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Utah is beautiful - Zion Nat Park, Bryce Canyon, etc. Also, the ski areas in CO do downhill mountain biking all summer. New Orleans used to be 18 to buy alcohol and 21 to drink it - lol. Not sure if it is still that way.

hwy 1 down from santa cruz, carmel to santa barbara, stop by LA and Vegas, New Mexico. Bryce canyon would be cool but you'll miss the coastal drive.

depending on time of year, you can cut thru Yosemite to Mono Lake if you're not doing the coastal drive. Check road conditions.

If you don't mind going north a bit, go through Yosemite... you won't regret it. Enter on the west or southwest, then exit on the east side and drive on down to death valley, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon.
