Yesterday I was informed by Performance Developments that they had received the pistons and they were being sent out for the top fuel dome coatings and skirt coatings. We should have them back in two weeks.
In the mean time the rods are due soon. Neil still says the motor will be assembled by the end of November.
I have some very exciting news. Actually two bits. Our software people have come up with a way that when we make a change to the ECU we can discover what response our change has to all other ECU and PSM functions and to identify the specific function in the codes. This has some major benefits.
Secondly, we have come up with knock listeners or sensors that will detect knock. We will now come up with warnings and a mechanism to shut the motor down prior to any damage taking place. No more bent rods, per ignition or detonation.

Ceramic coating on the top Moly style coat on the sides and a diamond or oil hold coating on the wrist pin?

The domes are ceramic coated for nitrous/top fuel duty. The skirts are coated with an anti friction coating. The wrist pins are coated with a compound referred to as "black carbon." The lands are anodized to prevent fusion of the rings to the pistons.

Are you not tuning with some sort of standalone? Regarding knock sensors etc, most/all good standalones usually have this..

Here are some pics of the pistons before they were sent out for the coatings. I was asked not to disclose the domes at this time. If you look at the upper right corner of one of the pics there is a sneak peak.

The wrist pins are not centered on the piston. They are off center so as to establish a true center bore alignment.
Black Carbon wrist pins. With the 105.4 mm bore the GT3 RSR size valves easily fit within the confines of the pistons. The oil ring is down in the wrist pin area.
what brand of pistons did you go with CP? Ross? look like a pretty custom piston due to many things.
what Compression ratio is that?
since you stated weight how much do the stockers weigh?
do you have one you can line up against these bad arse Forged works of art?
anyways looks killer dude pics like that are awesome to show off! Car Porn

CP is a class act they make some nice product.
Looks great man that ratio should Work great
you might be surprised at how it revs with the light pistons in my atv drag bikes it's really noticable the 50 gram difference ona piston makes on how it reacts to throttle.
Is this motor being balanced with the flywheel and crank pully installed ?
Doing porting on the heads or any extrude honing ?
Love these builds get me all riled up wanting to tear a motor apart n upgrade it ;-)

I am not sure how the motor was balanced.
The ports are plenty big. The heads were flow tested and all ports were matched.
