K&N Air Box

OK, I'm sure this has been beaten to death. But I just picked up a K&N air filter assembly for my 1999 C2. It is a brand new system, looks good, but I just heard that there are Mass Airflow Sensor issues using any K&N.
Any truth to this??

Thanks in advance
Mark

I have heard that too, when you install it just make sure the maf openning is facing the filter and wipe any excess oil off the filter. I havent had any issues with mine, 6k miles on em

Hey Mark...most of the problems associated with any oil based filtration is the end user over oils the filter when they clean the filter. Most people end up over oiling the filter and the excess will coat the MAF wire. This is not a big deal as every couple of months just remove the MAF and spray it down with a electronic parts cleaner as this will remove any excess oil that may have gotten on the wire.

Thanks for your input Dave

That 's what I was thinking also. I'm going to install the kit this weekend as well as a pair of FabSpeed mufflers. Then off to the SharkWerks for a ECU tune.
I love the 996, but it just does not sound like a Porsche, yet.
