Highest HP N/A engine?
Me and my friend were talking last night and got into a discussion and that question popped up. I THINK its the Aston Martin One-77 at 700HP. Mind you it has to be N/A and in a road car. Any guesses? *edit* Maybe the TVR Speed 12...? 880HP from a NA 12? i mean i know it wasnt REALLY a road car but still

Oh i dont know lets say anything with a production number of over 25. And also has to be DOT/MOT/some Department of motor vehicles in some country certified. Figure basic creature comforts aka GT3 RS type of deal.

The TVR Speed Twelve was deregulated to 880 hp, it originally had 1000 hp. There is a car called the Weineck Cobra which is loosely considered a production car that has a 780 cubic inch 1100 hp engine.

oh what the 10 seconds? WHY lol why do you need that... and 1700 hp? the thing is i would be scared i was going to grenade the engine every time i stepped on the loud pedal with nitrous.. 0-$200,000 engine replacement 2 seconds!

Not to be lame but I was reading about the Weineck Cobra and they only made 15 of them.

If Nitrous is tuned correctly its no worse than a supercharger for your engine. No worries about blowing it up, especially not one with 780 cubic inches with internals built for 8,000 rpm!

Cadillac produced a 13.6L V16 displacement on demand engine with 1000hp but it was only really ever a concept. All depends on what production volume you stipulate. The Weineck Cobra mentioned above probably is the most powerful NA engine someone has produced for the road but is it really a production car? Mind you there's only to be 77 Aston One-77s. In terms of true production cars (production of a few hundred or more) it's probably the Murcielago LP670-4. Everything else is either low volume, FI or less powerful unless I've forgotten something.
