Breitling Chronomat Evolution ... Opinions?

What do you guys think about the Breitling Chronomat Evolution?

I can't stop looking at the Graphite dial and Graphite subdials with the SS Pilot bracelet.

You gray looks awesome too!

You should go try one on in person, then you can tell whether or not you feel the same way. I was looking long and hard at that, the Steelfish Superocean, Planet Ocean and Submariner.

Personally, the Chronomat just didn't work out for me because it was just too much shine but definately still a nice piece. I found it to be very comfortable on the wrist as well and the dial is spectacular because it's not common like black or blue.

Unfortunately, I don't have it yet ... I just can't stop looking at it. I borrowed the above pictures from a member on Watchuseek. I really love the look of the two-tone case with the leather strap! Very classy! The Chronomat with the two-tone band is a little too much (bling) for me.

I have tried it on multiple times now. I just haven't been able to pull the trigger. Funnily enough, the Submariner is a long time favorite but I love the two tone and it becomes a lot pricier than the SS Chronomat. What did you end up with?

I ended up with the Planet Ocean QoS. I just bought it last night as my first automatic watch purchase. I originally thought it was too gimmicky but in person, i tried it on and couldn't take it off. The dial and numerals were stunning compared to the regular PO.

I didn't like the feel of the Sub on my wrist. It just felt too light and a little too subtle. I ended up looking at the Sea dweller instead but again, felt it was a little too pricey at this time. I can foresee myself eventually picking up a Sea Dweller though. The two tone Sub looked really good behind the case, but would be a good secondary watch if you have multiple pieces. I just found that it wouldn't match enough of my wardrobe so i ruled that out. Plus i don't like how the two-tone looks after some wear when it gets some dings and scratches.

The Steelfish Superocean reminded of the Tag Carerra, looked really good online but seemed to 'float' on my wrist too much, it just wasn't comfortable to me. I was really hoping that i would like this watch because it would've been the lightest on the wallet!

Here's a really crappy pic now of the QoS before i head back to the AD to remove another link.

That's a beautiful watch! Enjoy it! Definitely a good choice ... plus, it's always cool when you have a limited piece.

I felt the same way about the Sub ... very light and not too significant. I really want a Daytona but that is in an entirely different league for me right now. I don't want to feel like I am "settling" for a Sub.

I love the graphite colour Chronomat Evo...the white dial is very classy too..

Just one thing that irks me about the watch is also the the high polish finish on the entire watch....just a bit too much bling...

I wonder if anyone has ever brushed one to take away the shine...I'm thinking a brushed finished would look awesome too!

You can get some pretty good deals on these watches..especially right now...should be able to get a good 25-30% I'm sure...

Yes, I agree, the watch is very polished and gets a lot of attention all on its own. That is why I am not a huge fan of the two-tone (with the two-tone band), or the diamond bezel. I gets too over-the-top for me at that point. The all SS is as flashy as I personally like.

I have never seen a brushed one but I am very curious how it would look.

As far as discounts go, I didn't know AD's went very much beyond 18-20% off. It is really possible to get 25-30%?

I don't like the high polish because it scratches really easily. Very hard to maintain that watch if you wear it regularly.

I never really thought about that. Is it really that easy to scratch assuming you're careful? I wonder how much it costs to get it re-polished.

Wow! That's pretty good! 25% is ~$1460 off. I'll keep my eyes open for those deals. I thought the most I could reasonably get off from an AD was 18% (~$1050). Thanks for the help.

Nice! I love the white face too ... I already have a Movado SE Chrono (I know, not even close to the same level) that has a light sliver face so I want to switch it up a little bit. I will always have a soft spot for lighter faces *cough* Daytona *cough*.

Sad but true, my Chronomat seems to scratch way to easily...

Do you wear your Chronomat daily? I think if I was careful, I could use a cape cod polishing cloth every so often and get a major polish every couple years to keep it in good shape.
