One More Toy! Huge Sale for $3300 Porsche Design Watch ($990 at Porsche Design)
(Chuck/Tim/Adrian: am not a dealer and this is not an ad. Just an alert for a great deal on another Porsche toy.)
I've been looking at this watch for a long time, but never bought because I need another watch like a hole in the head. But... but... but... was at Porsche Design Store yesterday and couldn't believe the sale they had on: 70% off on this great classic, supposedly designed by Ferdinand Porsche himself 3 decades ago. Just posting in case you are interested. I like the grey face but chose black because it is easier to read.

nyamg, movement is run of the mill 7750 that's common to watches in the 1k to 5k range or so, some higher. The watch itself is an old design that's been around a long time and in the past was made by IWC, but not now.
For Einstein above with the Rolex tip: the idea is just a Porsche watch for the fun and interesting factor, and a classic design, otherwise it would be posted in the watch forum. Relax.
May not be worth it at 3300, but definitely so at 1000.

It’s said that Ferdinand Porsche himself lent his design genius to the creation of this watch three decades ago. As a matter of fact, this is the company’s first venture into chronographs. The P011 is more than an extraordinary, elegant and sporty timepiece as it echoes the milestone of being the first entirely black chronograph in the 1970s. The P011 features self-winding mechanical movement; hour, minute and second display; chronograph; date and day display; and tachymeter scale on the flange. Its sapphire glass cover is scratch-resistant and anti-reflective. The P011 is available in either stainless steel or titanium casing with matching metal, or natural rubber strap.

This is Einstein and I am very relaxed Also everyone has a BMWer--so what
That web site is not where I bought the watch from; I was just quoting the "story" of the watch.
I bought it from the Beverly Hills Porsche Design Store, phone 310-205-0095. The salesperson is Kevin (no affiliation), and the store does ship to any US address. I believe the sale was 60%, with a recent 10% tacked on. They have 2 grey ones left. I picked the black but really had a tough time deciding between black and grey.
In real life, it looks classic, simple, and "rugged" in a wonderful way. Porsche has many watches but this old & known design (Kevin the salesperson has the exact same watch that he's worn since 1998.) is to my eyes the most beautiful. As you mentioned, at $990, it's a screaming steal and you can't lose, especially if you are as nutty about Porsche as I am.
