Sounds like you are smitten with the Ingenieur- go for it! It's great sporty classic piece, I'm sure you can get one at a substantial discount even at an AD. Good luck!

Wow, what a beauty. Love the white dial. Remember me the Aquatimer SS Chronograph. Don't ever sell that watch but if you do, please remember me.
I'm now 100% confident on a IWC purchase. Plus everybody has a Rolex, I know it's tradition and all but everyone surround me has a freaking Rolex.

The IWC's are very nice. Only downside compared to Rolex, I think the Flieger chrono's and some of the others have an ETA based movement where the Rolex has an in-house manufactured calibre. I am pretty sure the Ingeneur watch has an in-house caliber however.
The style of the IWC's is a world away from the Milgaus. I love the Portugeuser style chrono's.

If balls you mean you like a busy chrono face with hard to read marking and a worthless sliderule that 99.9999% of people don't even know how to use, then yes, the pilot chrono you have in the photo is not your thing.
I personally like the clearly, subtle styling of the pilot chrono day-date in the photo of your original post.
Not sure about that lightening bolt on the Rolex. Too many Rolexes around and common it seems, and the styling just doesn't strike me personally.
You didn't say which IWC you bought? The Pilot auto with day/date, or the ingenuer...

I got this:
First, for a daily watch the bracelet works better than leather IMO plus I looked at both and the Pilot did not have a good feel on my hands, on pics it's awesome but live does not give you that much confidence. The Ingenieur in the other hand looks like a piece of art in person. I'm glad I choose that one. It feels solid and built like a safe. I'm sure it will last a long time.

Actually prefer the 5002, I got no love for the "bald" spot where the "9" vacated. Until a 43mm Daytona shows up the only Rolex I'd consider is DSSD.

My favorite watch now is the Panerai.
It does everything and looks good.

i don't know if the IWC is larger but its definitely cleaner looking. If it as larger watch it is a definitely better than the lex!
