Xmas Present

So I'm planning on buying my self a watch for myself for Christmas this year.
I'm only 19 so I wont be spending more than 5k. I will be buying an entry level watch. I was thinking about Uboat and Bell and Ross. I really like Hublots but they are way out of my price range. Do you guys have any suggestions? And any store you would recommend. I live in Los Angeles.

Thanks in Advance.

Leon

If you wanting to spend $5k, I would not waste my money on what you listed.

Look at IWC, UN, Zenith, etc on the used market

Bell & Ross make a nice watch; U-boat, forget it.

Check out the Timezone sales corner to see what you can get for $5k or less. There are a lot of really nice watches in your range. If you go for a new watch from a store, you can get 40% or more off some watches. Don't pay MSRP without doing your research.

Thanks, I know i wont be paying msrsp especially in this economy. My family usually gets at least 30% off. I have an idea, to what kind of watch i like. In terms of looks. But i dont know, what brand is superior. I figure you guys would have a better idea.

U-Boats are really trendy and probably won't last. Get a nice used Pam000 for $3.3k and save the rest. You'll love it.

some people have different economic situations than most. if you ever get a chance to watch the old reruns of The Cosby Show, the kids had rolex presidents on some of the episodes.

I would pass on both the Uboat and B&R if you got 5k to spend..

At 5 grand you have A TON of way better options...especially if you're considering something used...

Rolex, Panerai, IWC among many others...

If you're thinking something big like a Uboat/BR, there are a load of Panerai models that will fit into your budget...

If you're not a fan of Panerai, tell us more about some details of what you're looking for...

I have a PAM but I've recently gotten very interested in a 46mm B&R.
