Theres a lot of decent watchs out there for the price range but my personal favorite for a classy automatic watch, i like the Hamilton jazzmaster maestro chrono. Great movement, clean face, and can be found for less than 1000!

i agree with the seamaster or tag carrera idea. both are excellent watches. if you want a new one, try Oris. there are plenty on overstock.com, but they aren't AD's, so it may affect your warranty. any local dealer should be able to get you 30% off.
