Escort 9500 ci install (11) »
cg1973 February 13, 2010
I had a Escort 9500ci installed in my 2009 AM V8 Vantage. The guy did a sweet job, it wasn't cheep. The install cost me $1,500 and took two days. He placed the radar detector behind the front grille, the two laser shifters are perfectly placed between the grill blades and don't stick out past the grille, the GPS tracker is placed under the dash in the center of the car by the windshield. The control unit is placed by the 12V power supply where the ashtray would be so to access it, you just flip up the cover. He routed the software update cable into the center console next to the iPod interface. He placed a fuse for the unit in the little storage space behind the seats, and he will be recessing the rear laser shifter in a powder coated license plate frame at the bottom. The rear laser shifter will be flush mounted with the license plate frame so it doesn't look like an after thought. Best of all he mounted the display next to the rear view mirror on the drivers side. ONLY the driver can see it and you don't have to take your eyes off the road. You can't see if if you were to look into the window (like a cop would when they pull you over). This is truly a James Bond 007 install and it works like a charm. I hope this is helpful.
