Tuned By McLaren

Those three words alone are worth the $249,000 asking price, but if you’re not sold on the name let’s talk a little bit about the car. It’s a 2006 SRT/10 which is a stout piece of machinery, to begin with. What exactly did the Formula 1 team do to massage this already potent snake?

10 Silver Fangs

Choosing the keep the engine naturally aspirated, the Woking sorcerers decided to go for the ultimate in throttle response: individual throttle bodies. On a big displacement V10, this is a modification that is sure to boost the feedback and intensity the driver will experience behind the wheel.

More Than Numbers

For a group that prides itself on lap times and technical specifications, the power output of 615 horses might not sound that impressive until you factor in that throttle response. The nature of this car is about more than the sum of the numbers: this is a Viper that has been tuned to be a proper driving experience.

Footloose

Power means nothing without a chassis and suspension system that can support it. This is where ASC brings the modification treatment full circle. Ride height has been dropped for a better center of gravity as well as increasing cornering prowess. No word on what shocks/springs this car runs, but you can bet it’s nothing cheap given the name behind it.

Best of the Best

Many of the great things about this car are subtle. It doesn’t shout about the modifications it has until you turn the engine over, but it’s been tuned and modded with a meticulous hand. Sitting at a Cars and Coffee, this would look like any other subtly modified Viper and that’s what makes it so cool. We love it. What are your thoughts?
