Ferrari 550 Maranello GT Hill Climb Cars
Slideshow: Before we get to the video, here is some information about the car.
Pavement Destroyer
Based on GT1 class rules, this 550 Maranello outputs somewhere in the ballpark of 600 horsepower which is immense when you consider how light a car of this nature is. Other than a cage and a seat there isn’t much else to keep this car from moving very rapidly down whatever road lies ahead.
Carbon Fiber Affair
Vehicles in this class utilize carbon fiber bodywork that is extremely lightweight. It is also very expensive, but when you’re racing at this level every gram counts. Nothing can be heavier than it needs to be when the goal is maximum attack around every corner.
Ear Splitting Glory
One of the best things about this ridge racer is the naturally aspirated V12 that screams towards you until your ears bleed. Every rpm is like an M80 being set off inside your skull. This is exactly what a proper hill climb car should sound like. Bravo Piero.
House Fly Agility
This car rips through corners with an animalistic nature that is untamed and relentless. You can see the composure of the body coupled with Nappi’s natural ability to tame the beast. Some aerodynamics help in stability, but this is still one serious machine to pilot down a twisty mountain road.
As Good As It Gets
Racing cars are great, but a road going Ferrari that has been adapted to be the fastest thing on a mountain road is something really special. This car makes every sound you want, goes like hell and has all the presence of a bright red supercar on the starting line. Truly amazing. Hope you enjoyed this one.
