924 Bel Air Mansion Listed for Sale With a $30 Million 12 Car Collection

Why shop separately, when you can one-stop-shop and get a 10 motorcycle and 12 car collection included with your new house?
It’s true that we’re living in some weird and funky times. The extremely wealthy continue to find ways to spend or invest their wealth, while most college graduates struggle to find decent jobs. One thing is for sure, real estate is where it’s at, as you’re about to find out!
924 Bel Air Road
The property you see featured here is officially the most expensive home to ever be listed in the United States. Frankly, it might be one of the most expensive homes in the world! Located in Bel Air, California, the 38,000-square-foot home has been listed for sale for $250 million dollars. And you might be wondering, what exactly do you get for that kind of penny, and who’d buy it?

Robb Report asked home developer Bruce Makowsky, why this level of opulence? He said: “People pay $100 to $200 million for their yacht, but were content paying only $30 million for the home that they live in everyday.” Oh, so that’s why! This home as a fiscal exercise in getting people to spend as much money on homes as they do on toys.

“My mission started five years ago to create the most extraordinary, exciting and dramatic contemporary estate ever built in the most beautiful place in the United States. I searched by land and helicopter to find a setting worthy of creating this masterpiece. I found it by air in the hills of Bel Air, within the platinum triangle of Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel Air.” – Bruce Makowsky
Decor
Regardless if there’s a logical explanation to spend this kind of money on a home, the property really and truly is outstanding. For starters, half of the four-story property is open to the elements, and is very reminiscent of Iron Man’s house. Open air living rooms, party areas, and even bedrooms allow the outside in as the horseshoe-shaped home wraps around luscious lot.

914 Bel Air’s decor could easily be classified as questionable by most, and “totally badass” by many. The lavishly curated home is pure Entourage, and supposedly styled after high-end yachts. One can tell the developer really loves his yachts.
The 18,000-square-foot property revolves around an 85-foot infinity pool, which is the ku de ta of the 17,000-square-foot entertainment space. If you look at the photos closely, the open air entertainment area is reminiscent of, you guess it, a yacht! The lucky future owners will enjoy sweeping views of downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica Beach, all while sipping one of the many Ace of Spades champagne bottles from the massive wine cellar. In addition, an 18 by 10-foot TV can raise from the pool’s bottom at flick of a switch.

The 10 guest suites, 21 bathrooms, three kitchens, five bars, two wince cellars and gym have all been custom appointed by top designers. Whether Roberto Cavalli, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, everyone involved in this project is world-class.
Toys
Let’s face it, when you live in this kind of rarefied air, it’s all about the toys. And boy does 924 Bel Air come with some big boy (or big girl) toys.

When you first enter the property you’ll be greeted by a gorgeous Bell 222A helicopter from the TV series Airwolf, The executive grade air taxi has had its interior revamped, and outfitted with Hermès and Louis Vuitton leathers. According to Jalopnik, this specific ’80s helicopter went up for sale for $595,000 dollars last year.

Once you make your way past the first big toy, you might bump into a massive sculpture of a Leica camera by Chinese artist Liao Yibai. A similar piece can be found on Ebay for a whopping $250,000. From there, a plethora of guitars signed by rock ‘n roll royalty will sort of impress you, but not really. In addition, a candy bar will make you smile, a four-lane bowling alley decorated by Louis Vuitton will catch your eye, and a vertical pinball machine made from Veuve Clicquot Champagne bottles will make you thirsty
Then, you’ll run into the serious machinery…
Cars & Motorcycles
Sure, a 40-seat 4K Dolby movie theater is cool, but it’s not as exciting as a 10 motorcycle and 20 car collection. Amongst the high-pedigree machines you’ll find some truly unique vehicles such as:
- Bugatti Veyron
- Pagani Huayra
- 1936 50K Mercedes-Benz
- Ariel Atom
- Morgan 3-Wheeler
- Ferrari 488
- Rolls Royce Dawn (Yacht-themed)
- Spyker C8
- Bentley Continental GT Convertible
- Lamborghini Gallardo (Weird choice?)
- Electric Lito Green Motion Sore motorcycle

Who Will Buy It?
One word: millennials. How do I know? Well, 924 Bel Air comes furnished and already jam-packed with toys. It’s turnkey. Old-school billionaires like to demolish walls, bring in interior designers, architects and engineers to bring their wild dreams into reality. Not young billionaires, they pay for the home from their smartphones, and move in the next day. No decorating, no knocking down walls. Instant gratifications.
Who can blame them? I like easy, too.
