Danny Trejo Teams Up with Dodge for Laughs and a Good Cause
This summer, Dodge launched a new Hispanic advertising campaign entitled “It’ll Test You,” and from it, came three hilariously entertaining commercials starring everyone’s favorite lovable badass, Danny Trejo.
During the filming of these commercials in Mexico City, the team at Dodge learned about Danny’s other side — his philanthropic work and his passion for A Walk on Water (AWOW), a nonprofit organization whose primary goal is providing relief to families of children with special needs through “surf therapy.”
According to Juan Torres, head of multicultural advertising for FCA, it was an easy decision to support Danny in his efforts to generate awareness and funds for AWOW, and they’re doing so by pledging a donation of up to $25,000.
The first $20,000 was presented to the board members of AWOW at an intimate gathering on September 17th.

The remaining $5,000 pledge will require the public’s help as Dodge will donate $50 for each test drive taken at participating Southern California dealerships beginning September 24th. As a bonus, each test drive participant will also receive 2 free tickets to the Supersonico music festival, which features Latino-focused music, local art, food and crafts.
Test drives to support A Walk on Water will take place at these dates and locations:
- 2 – 7 p.m., Thursday, September 24 at Champion Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Downey, 9655 Firestone Blvd.
- 3 – 8 p.m., Friday, September 25 at Premier Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of West Covina, 298 N. Azusa Ave.
- 3 – 8 p.m., Monday, September 28 at Van Nuys Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 6110-6114 Van Nuys Blvd.
- 3 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 29 at Alhambra Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 1100 W. Main Street
