Digital Artist Uses AI to Create Wild-Looking ‘The Pisanos’ Porsche Ad

Artist Laszlo Gaal used AI to craft a surprisingly convincing Porsche spec ad video.

Porsche has enough of a loyal following that fans will go out of their way to create artistic video tributes to the brand’s machines. Laszlo Gaal, the digital artist behind the YouTube channel “hellolaco,” is no different. Laszlo created a Wes Anderson-esque story about the “Pisano” family and their mysteriously flexible necks. As odd as it sounds, the Pisano family can trace their unique trait back to their first experiences with a Porsche.

Keeping in mind that the imagery is almost entirely AI-generated, the Porsches are rather, well, convincing. About 45 seconds into the AI-generated video story, the first Porsche appears: a gleaming 356. It sits ahead of a quaint Porsche dealer. A moment later, Herr Veber, an eccentric German with a penchant for Porsches, drives past the Pisano family home in a 992 Porsche 911. “Porsche: turning heads for generations,” the narrator says of the peacocking Porsches.

‘Raw Emotion’ in the Inspiration for ‘The Pisanos’

Featuring gorgeous shots of what looks like Lake Como in the foothills of the Italian Alps, it’s difficult to believe that Laszlo used Veo2 and Google DeepMind to create the scenery. “We had to bring it to life in the heart of Lombardy so we went to this beautiful little village where every stone and narrow street tells a story.”

Those were the words of a “talking head” in the behind-the-scenes content. However, as convincing as the content might look, it too is “as fictional as the flexible-necked Pisano family.” “In the end, this is the story about the connection between families and communities and their shared passion for extraordinary machines.”

In case you hadn’t put it together, the talking head in the faux behind-the-scenes content points out that Porsches throughout the ages are the reason why the Pisanos have such “flexible necks.” Herr Veber’s frequent trips past the Pisanos’ home through the decades caused the clan’s descendants to develop wild flexibility as the Zuffenhausen sports cars drove past.

Of course, Laszlo had to include a disclaimer. He wrote, “This spec commercial concept is not affiliated with or endorsed by Porsche AG or any of its subsidiaries.”
