Ferrari F40 GTE Gets X-Rayed for a Unique Form of Art

By -

A Ferrari F40 racer along with other stunning machinery reveal their innermost secrets thanks to an artist’s imagination.

You’ve most likely seen many photographs of the Ferrari F40, as well as its racing variant, the F40 GTE. You’ve seen it clean, dirty, under the sunlight, and, most likely, under the cover of darkness. In addition, photos of its engine bay, interior, and other bits have been published many times since its 1987 debut.

But, have you ever seen through the F40? We’re not talking about through its windows, but through its fiberglass body? Thanks to U.K. artist Nick Veasey we’re able to enjoy the most intimate parts of the F40 in a way they’ve never been seen before.

Veasy is a 55-year-old artist who gets to “play” with massive x-ray machines in order to create art. While some of his works feature X-ray images of butterflies and small devices like cameras, etc., others are much more interesting, as this video by SWNS TV shows.

His most recent work has taken place at the Frauenhofer Institute in Fuerth, in Germany, where Veasy had access to an extra-large x-ray machine used for industrial purposes. This kind of equipment is commonly used by security or government agencies to search the likes of cargo ships, trains, or semi-trucks that often cross state or country borders.

As you can appreciate, there’s a certain level of “awesomeness” to seeing these awesome cars this way. It’s almost as if they were “naked.” Amongst the Ferrari F40’s company are several Corvettes, a ’30s Pontiac, a 1972 Land Rover Series 3, a gorgeous 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, etc. All of them show the intricacies of their motors, transmissions, seats, etc.

We don’t know about you, but this is definitely a very interesting and unique form of art!
