Say Hello to Ferrari’s LaFerrari XX

LaFerrariXX

We’ve known for a while that Ferrari was planning an even more insane track only version of their already insane LaFerrari. The LaFerrari XX, keeping the same naming scheme as the last few track only Ferrari’s was finally spotted and videotaped doing some hot laps around Ferrari’s test track Fiorano and things didn’t go so well. Take a look:

Coming out of the corner you can just vaguely see the rear right wheel develop a helluva positive camber lean to it, and I sincerely doubt that Ferrari is playing with four wheel steering. What’s odd about this video is that the test driver doesn’t seem to get off the gas when the wheel and driveshaft obviously break. Maybe it was Kimi?

What isn’t known as of yet are the figures on this bonkers Ferrari. The standard LaFerrari has around 950 hp developed from both the V12 and electric engines, and if the driveshafts are breaking from the strain of this new XX model, that horsepower figure is probably quite a bit more.

What also isn’t clear with this video is if this car is just a mule for the engine and not for any of the cosmetic changes. The video shows what appears to be a standard LaFerrari body, and with the previous iterations of the XX line, the bodywork has changed drastically from the production car due to increased amounts of down force.

The car will likely be shown in the actual flesh next car show season, most likely either Paris, Geneva or at one of their own Ferrari World Challenge races as was done with the Enzo based FXX. Price will be set at “Completely out of reach” levels, especially when you consider that the last XX Ferrari fetched a cool $2.5 Million.

Hopefully, Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren decide to finally fight it out and take all three of their track only hybrid hypercars and put together a true racing series to see these cars in action!
