Luxury cars are often made popular thanks to attractive leasing options. You drive a car for a couple of years, turn it in, then get another car that you drive for another few years. Leasing lowers payments, and are treated differently when it comes to tax deductions for your business. For some, leasing is the only way to go.

When it comes to supercars, though, leasing is non-existent. Sure, you can always lease a Porsche or an Audi, but good luck at getting a lease on a Ferrari. McLaren, seeing a potential hole in the market, has decided to change that. Yes folks, starting soon you’ll be able to lease a McLaren of your very own.

Both the 570S and 650S will be lease-eligible, but McLaren is only quoting the potential lease price for the 570S; $2,200 a month. For that amount of coin, you can be driving around in an exotic British supercar instead of whatever German vehicle you’re in now.

Leasing also opens the door up to a vibrant certified pre-owned marketplace. Imagine being able to walk into a McLaren dealer and getting a used McLaren with low miles that has been meticulously cared for and certified.

Except, would it be meticulously cared for? I know several people who beat the crap out of their leases because they don’t have to keep the car and try to sell it themselves.

McLaren hasn’t announced more details on the lease, including the all-important mileage allowance. But with supercars retaining a lot of their value, leasing kinda makes sense.
