Hear the Corvette Stingray Z06 Convertible Rumble to Life

This is what a supercharged, 6.2-liter, push-rod V8 sounds like in 2014. It’s good to know that some things never really change.

The Z06, unsurprisingly, sounds beastly. It’s a cold start since they’re just moving the thing, so I can’t say they rev the hell out of it. You do get to hear the Z06 make a little noise. Think of this is an appetizer.

I’m beginning to understand the appeal of the Z06 convertible. The fact that it exists at all is a little strange considering that the Z06 is normally considered the “hardcore” Corvette. What’s a track rat like this need with convertible top anyway?

Then, I remembered what it’s like to be around race-tuned Corvettes being driven at full tilt. I mean, if there’s a car that sounds more like heavy artillery moving at high-speed than a pissed off, uncorked Corvette… I haven’t heard it. That just gets better when you subtract the roof from the equation.
