Koenigsegg CCX-R versus Bugatti Veyron with Christian von Koenigsegg
Christian von Koenigsegg is one of my automotive heroes. He’s a man with a singular vision, and that vision is all out speed. From the first mention of Koenigsegg in the industry, I knew that the company would take the fight not only to the likes of Ferrari, but also to supercar manufacturers everywhere. The cars that come out of his factory are some of the fastest, most illogically awesome cars on the planet, and Christian is the man behind that success.
While Koenigsegg has been very vocal about his thoughts on the rest of the supercar industry, and his thoughts about his company having the fastest production cars on the planet, there have only been a few times that the Swede has actually shown just how fast his cars are.
Recently, at a runway event in Europe, someone gave the keys to their Bugatti Veyron to Christian von Koenigsegg himself, and then ran the same year Koenigsegg CCX-R against it. Frankly, this video is pure unadulterated awesome. I don’t think Christian truly had an appreciation of just how crazy the Veyron is, as you’ll see by his face. But hot damn is that CCX-R fast.
