Since the acquisition of Lamborghini by Volkswagen and Audi, one consistent criticism levied against the raging bulls from Sant’Agata is that the cars have lost their wild and ridiculous characters that once inspired lust from the posters on every bedroom wall. From the Aventador, the Murcielago, the Gallardo, to the new Huracan, something has been missing. Thankfully, within the last few years, Lamborghini’s designers have been consistently set free to build a crazy one-off custom monster that harks back to the Lamborghini’s of old.

That’s how we were introduced to the Reventon, the amazing Sesto Elemento, the psychotic Veneno, and the purely ridiculous Egoista. Now however, Lamborghini is getting ready to introduce a new flamboyant supercar at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. However, little is known about the upcoming supercar due to Lamborghini veil of mystery surround it.

So far, all we have are rumors, but if proven true, this will be one of the wildest Lamborghinis ever developed. According to TheSupercarKids, the new Lamborghini will be unveiled in a private showing for a very small group of potential buyers. The supercar itself will be limited to most likely 20 coupes, and 10 roadsters total. It will also feature a tuned version of the new Aventador SV’s V12 tower of power churning out over 800 horsepower and weighing considerably less than the Aventador it’s based on.

One other rumor is the name. While the last three one-off cars received truly perfect names, we’re not so sure about this one. HyperVeloce. Sure, it sounds cool, but it also sounds a bit boring and uninspired, which is directly the opposite of what Lamborghini is going for with this car.
