LMR's 2000hp Corvette Cleans up at Texas Invitational Shootout

It’s that time of year again where the tuners take their biggest guns down to Texas for some fun on a half-mile long strip of tarmac. Not to be confused with the (equally awesome) TX2k13, the Texas Invitational plays host to some of the fastest things on four wheels you can find. There were a lot of winners and all the cars were sweet. The big winner last weekend, though, were the guys at Late Model Racecraft and their 2000hp Corvette.

For reference, the cars in Unlim 500+ videos  and street racing with UGR’s Gallardos average 1000hp-1500hp. LMR’s Vette is firmly that category full-mile dragsters with it’s 2000hp. That’s basically a two Turbo Porsches for each rear-tire. You know things are getting out of control when you start using “Porsche” as unit of measurement.

They snagged the highest MPH award for the weekend as well as winning the Corvette Challenge and the King of the Streets competition, so congrats to those guys. We posted the final race between LMR’s Corvette T1 Race Development’s GT-R below, with some additional action from the weekend too. Fantastic racing. Awesome cars. What’s not to like?

Correction: Not the same space as TX2K12 and it’s a rolling half mile (thanks Amar!)
