Listen to the New Aston Martin DBS Sing Its V12 Song

Sure, the new Aston Martin DBS Superlegerra is an amazing thing to look at. But it sounds incredible, too.

There’s no denying that the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a beautiful looking thing. Which should come as no surprise, given Aston’s nearly perfect track record of blessing this world with gorgeous machinery. But we didn’t really know what this amazing new machine looked like or sounded like, aside from a recently leaked photo. Until now, that is.

YouTuber Mr JWW was on hand as the new Aston Marton DBS was officially unveiled. And suffice to say, neither he nor we were disappointed. In a matte gray finish with that signature gaping grille, you won’t find too many people who hate it, that’s for sure. But beneath that gorgeous sheetmetal lurks a car more than good enough to live up to its legendary Superleggera nomenclature.

It starts under the hood, where you’ll find essentially the same 5.2-liter V12 as the DB11. But Aston cranked up the boost for this application, which takes power all the way up to 715 horsepower. Which is a bit more than the DB11’s 600 raging ponies. That added power also required a gearbox upgrade in the form of a new ZF 8-speed tranny.

The new Super GT also utilizes the DB11’s mostly-aluminum platform. But it features a stiffer suspension and lighter carbon fiber body panels, resulting in a 160 pound reduction. It all adds up to a 3.3-second 0-60 time and 211 mph top speed. Perhaps more importantly, however, the new Aston Martin DBS makes some incredible noises.

So at least from initial impressions, it seems like Aston has yet another hit on its hands. We can’t wait to see a new DBS out on the road. Or even better, the track. Where you can be sure that it’ll be one of the fastest and most beautiful rides in attendance!
