Matt Farah’s L.A. Garage Packs Over 140 Cars, Includes a Bar

Westside Collector Car Storage will host influencer’s Smoking Tire podcast and offer a spot where car visitors can enjoy a drink.

Let’s say you’re a Los Angeles resident with an affinity for fine automobiles. Your parking is all spoken for at your humble abode, but you just have to have that classic sports car you stumbled upon. You don’t want it stored in a random warehouse, but you don’t want it in the Petersen Museum either. According to the L.A. Times, Matt Farah is currently building your solution. It is called Westside Collector Car Storage, or WCCS for short and really is something to behold.

Los Angeles real estate is known for being creatively packaged, so when Farah was designing WCCS, he decided to build up, instead of out. The facility utilizes 18 car stacking lifts. They can stack cars four high, and there’s room for an additional couple dozen cars in the facility’s basement. That accounts for a 140-car capacity.

For car owners, this is a convenient and safe storage location, but it also offers amenities that can’t be found at home. California’s laws also don’t permit some homeowners to wash their cars on their own property.

At WCCS you’ll be able to add that on to the storage of your vehicle. Some locations have some steep geography to negotiate, and low cars can’t get up some steep driveways without bottoming out. A car wash, a service or even arrange for putting into or removing from storage can be scheduled by an app. Plus, safety and privacy are of top concern. Farah won’t even allow photos of the cars inside.

Mere mortals can access the facility too. A social aspect of the building is part of the design, and owners can mingle and grab coffee, play with race simulators, or enjoy a drink a bar while visiting. Farah also plans on hosting his Smoking Tire podcast at the building as well. With close proximity to LAX, it can attract collectors from across the nation and even noteworthy podcast co-hosts. Due to open in the spring, it will add yet one more site for the car lovers of Los Angeles to congregate and keep their hot rides under a safe eye.
