McLaren Gathering at the Quail: Pebble Beach Gallery
McLaren gathering at Pebble Beach leaves collectors and fans alike in awe.
This is the McLaren Senna GTR Concept. Normally, concepts aren’t really our thing. However, this racing concept is quickly approaching production, so we will give it a pass. McLaren intends to take the Senna GTR to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. There have only been two GTR-badged McLarens before, the legendary F1 and its successor, the P1. Both are winners with serious racing pedigree, so the Senna has big shoes to fulfill. McLaren knows this. Also, obviously, it’s called the Senna. That alone should fill you in on how seriously McLaren is taking this project.
And speaking of McLarens that go racing, how about one of its forebearers, the P1 LM. Much like the Senna GTR above it, this P1 LM carries an equally storied history. The P1 road car was famously one of the ‘Holy Trinity’ mega cars, alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder. This LM version, as you’ve likely guessed, stands for ‘Le Mans,’ as it is a road-legal homologation car. Just one step below the P1 GTR.
Oh, and for good measure, how about a green carbon fiber Senna?
We have reported on the $415,000 carbon fiber body option for the Senna. And, of course, this being Pebble Beach, naturally one would be here. This particular example appears to be owned by notable collector Michael Fux.
Lovely.
Oh, and here’s some more McLaren goodness, just ’cause.
