McLaren P1 Crushes Bugatti Veyron in Drag Race
It might not seem like that long ago, but the Bugatti Veyron is quite an old car. With 1000 horsepower and all-wheel drive, it was capable of accelerating quickly and hit the top speed record for production cars. But with a new batch of hypercars here, they Veyron doesn’t appear to be all that quick. Here’s a video showing that.
Of course, when a Bugatti Veyron races a McLaren, everybody wins. That’s the case here. A new P1 races a 2011 Veyron (non-Super Sport) down an airport runway. While the Bugatti is still quick off the line due to all-wheel drive, the McLaren’s lighter-weight helps it overall.
We would like to see what a race against the more-powerful Super Sport would be like, but until that race is made, it looks like the British beat the French as the current hypercar king.
