Pirelli Becomes the Official Tire for One-Make Porsche Carrera Cup North America
Pirelli and Porsche join forces in a new partnership for Porsche Carrera Cup North America
Every year, Porsche enthusiasts and racing fans descend on tracks across the continent for Porsche Carrera Cup North America. It’s a one-make series of races pitting race-prepped Porsche 911s against each other. The Porsches assemble on hallowed tracks like Sebring International Raceway to battle it out for one-make supremacy. But, for the first time in six years, Porsche Carrera Cup North America signed an exclusive multi-year agreement to make Pirelli the official tire of the series.
The news of the Porsche-Pirelli partnership follows the Italian tire manufacturer’s announcement that the brand had developed “bespoke fitments” for the Porsche 911 GT3. But the GT3’s P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS tires aren’t quite the same as the racing rubber. For the Porsche Carrera Cup North America, the race cars will make use of Pirelli’s P Zero DHG tires. The tire manufacturer says wet weather won’t stop the partnership, either. Should the need for a wet track-friendly tire arise, the Cinturato WHB will be the rain-ready rubber of choice.
A ‘New Era’
Volker Holzmeyer, the President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, celebrated the partnership. ‟Porsche and Pirelli share a deep motorsport heritage and a commitment to innovation that carries from the track to the road,” Holzmeyer said. ‟We’re excited to welcome Pirelli to our premier Porsche One-Make series as we usher in a new era with the 911 Cup and new Pirelli tires beginning in 2026.”
And Holzmeyer isn’t the only one. Claudio Zanardo, Pirelli North America’s president and CEO, was similarly excited. ‟Pirelli is thrilled to partner with Porsche Motorsport North America as the tire supplier for the Porsche Carrera Cup North America, adding to our extensive portfolio of top-level championships supported worldwide.” The beginning of the season will kick off at Florida’s Sebring International Raceway on March 18, 2026.
