Preview: 2017 Aston Martin DB11 First Drive
The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 recently made its U.S. media debut near San Diego, California, and 6SpeedOnline was there to sample the next-generation grand-touring supercar to come from the legendary DB bloodline.
Our previous meeting with the DB11 was last summer in Phoenix, Arizona when Aston Martin was conducting extreme heat testing, but we were simply passengers in a single pre-production car. This time around, there was an entire fleet of colorful DB11s waiting for us to tour them along the California coast.
The itinerary called for a four-hour cruise on a specially-planned route that would showcase the vehicle in a wide array of environments, from snowy mountain roads to dry desert passes — and we made sure to exercise the 600-horsepower turbocharged V12 engine at every possible opportunity.
There’s a lot to be said about the 2017 Aston Martin DB11, especially because it kicks off the British automaker’s “Second Century Plan” and sets the tone for the next six new cars the company plans to release.
