Enzo Ferrari was born in Turin, Italy on February 20th, 1898. To celebrate, Los Angeles members of the Ferrari Club of America descended on the Petersen Automotive Museum last Saturday for a free car show. The LA Times Auto Writer rolled up in a 458 Spyder, and there were plenty of Daytonas, several ’60s-era Lussos, a handful […] More »
The corkscrew at Laguna Seca is a notoriously tricky bit of track, and during this year’s Ferrari Challenge, driver Ryan Ockey had a particularly bad time with it. I figured I’d see this glorious driver’s car sporting a crippling offset and rendered utterly useless. But sometimes it’s nice to be wrong.
This is Eric Clapton’s one-off Ferrari 458 SP12 leaving a London dealership. The SP stands for “Special Program,” and the 12 presumably stands for “2012.” With the two-tone paint and b-pillar tweaks, it invokes the dead-sexy looks of the BB 512, and according to the YouTube description, it was originally supposed to sport a V12.
