This Mid-engine V6 Geo Metro Is An Engineering Wonder

It takes quite a bit of bravery to turn a wheezing. under-powered Geo Metro into a Kremmer Porsche replica, but that’s exactly what makes the 24 hours of LeMons series so incredible. Years ago, one team decided to stuff a Taurus SHO V6 into a Geo Metro. It was an attempt to recreate the Ford Shogun, and more recently, it was made to look like the LoveFab Pike’s Peak hill-climb racer after sprouting two turbos.

Not leaving anything alone, the LoveFab bodywork is now gone, replaced with a Porsche 935 Kremmer wide body whale-tail. But the modifications are more than skin-deep. The mix match of parts is almost to Frankenstein levels, and there’s more welds than there are bolts. A quick parts list overview shows 17×9 wheels over Mustang Cobra brake rotors. Those were fabbed up to the Taurus front spindles through some creative metal work. A Ford F150 radiator core provides cooling. Two Borg Warner turbos give it nearly 340hp and 340 lb/ft of torque as well.

It has to be said though, the CAD-designed Porsche body on this car is truly a work of art. It is even more impressive as it is all hand-crafted.
