Volkswagen Group Owns What May be the Best Car Collection in Germany

The Volkswagen W 12 Concept you see above is part of the second-most-popular tourist attraction in Germany.

It’s called Autostadt, and approximately two million people flock to Wolfsburg each year to visit the exhibit. Many of those folks are new-car customers from all over Germany making the trek to Lower Saxony to pick up their new cars … it’s kind of like National Corvette Museum delivery, except people aren’t charged a destination fee on top of a museum delivery fee when they pick up from Autostadt.

Visitors to Autostadt are greeted with one of the best car collections in the world. If you’re expecting a museum filled only with VW Group products, you’re wrong. They’ve got a couple of Citroëns, a DeLorean and a ’64 E-type Jag among their non-German vehicle assortment. Of course, the German greats are there, from the Volkswagen Beetle to the Porsche Carrera GT. Of course, there’s a Veyron in the collection, plus other Bugattis like the EB118 coupe.
