Privateer Runs 991.2 Porsche GT3 RS Around the Nurburgring in 7:37

Second time is the charm as Porsche 911 GT3 RS driver runs around the Nurburgring.

When you have a new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the best way to get the most out of its 4.0-liter, 520-horsepower flat-six is to take it to the nearest track, and send it. There’s no feeling like getting a feel for your new ride around the curves and straights of your local circuit, whether it’s Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, or Harris Hill Road.

Except, of course, for the feeling you get from swinging your GT3 RS around the corners of its home track, the Nurburgring. YouTuber / ./ (who we’re going to call Mr. 2Slashdot going forward), knows those feelings, having bought his GT3 RS not too long ago to take around the Green Hell.

Setting down his phone and gloving up, Mr. 2Slashdot weaves his red GT3 RS through the cones onto the Nurburgring, giving it the beans almost immediately to pass a random black hatchback. A few seconds later, an Audi TT cabriolet falls to the wayside of the GT3 RS.

For the next minute or so, it’s just the driver and his GT3 RS taking each turn and straight like a pro, a symphony of flat-six drones and squealing tires the only accompaniment to their waltz. The solitary interlude comes to an end upon passing the first of a few 911s, though, followed by a Suzuki Swift. Another minute passes before a close encounter with a BMW 3-Series wagon puts the brakes on the run, if for a brief moment.

Mr. 2Slashdot’s run lasted 7:37. In the description for the video, he says his second time out with the GT3 RS “felt a lot better,” and he’s gaining more confidence in the car. He’s still taking things “step by step,” but we’re sure he’ll do well in the future.
