Clutch slipping, Should I do the LWFW also?

I just recently did Kevin's programming and was warned by him that the clutch may go soon after doing the upgrade. While on the freeway last night in 3rd gear I punched it and the tach jumped about 500rpm with a pause in the power to the wheels- I assume this means the clutch is going out soon.
My question is, I am considering Kevin's GT3RS clutch kit with the lightweight flywheel, But am concerned about the reported noises I have read about (rattling, clanking, or clattering in neutral)
Does anyone here in Vegas have this clutch/flywheel package that I could hear in person?
Have any people have done this mod and regret it?
I am concerned about the rattling and clanking noises more than stalling issues. How loud and annoying is the rattling noise?

I have it in my cab...so there. Just engage the clutch and the noise goes away.

The noise will be there. You do need a better/new clutch with
your power, but if you are concerned with retaining a quiet
luxury quiet motorcar sound, the clutch noise from a single
mass lightweight flywheel will be an irritant/tradeoff. It will
feel faster on acceleration. I have one, and it 'growls' a little
while idling in neutral.

I haven't done the exhaust yet, still planning on it, but don't want it loud. Thinking of Europipe Quiet, I had Fabspeed on my previous C2 cab and it was too loud for my taste.
So, I need a very loud exhaust to drown out that rattling noises from the Lightweight flywheel if I go that way? You guys are talking me out of doing this...

If it just "growls" a little while idling I can handle that. I don't want to hear a clattering sound though. I really wish I could hear one in person before doing this. Anyone have a sound clip?

had the lwfw on my 01 with an AWE exhaust and loved the feel, but HATED the rattle. You should definitely hear one first before you do it. I just bought another 996tt and am not going to put it on my car. It really depends on how much you drive your car.

the rattle on mine is negligible. if you have the AC on, it's a bit louder but nothing unbearable. the lwfw on my supra sounded like a tractor.

See my posts and video on rennlist.com....same user name in the 996turbo forum. Kevin at UMW did my kit for me...all parts/bolts/etc. Price was very, very fair.

Anway, I have it in my car. You hear it. I like it. I posted multiple videos.

I talked to Kevin again and I am leaning toward just doing it. He says the noise it not that bad, just some people make it seem worse than it is. Now I need to check on install prices here in Vegas. Dealer quoted 22 hrs.
