Need help. 1971 Porsche 911s.

Hey guys. My dad just handed me the keys to his 71 911s Targa that has been his since new. It's amazingly cherry, but I have one problem before I can get it out of his garage and into mine. The batteries are completely dead and will not hold a charge. No big deal right? Well for the last couple of days I've been walking in every parts store with a tape measure to find two batteries that will fit in the spaces provided under the hood ( if you pop the hood, behind both of the headlights is a battery in it's own little cubby hole. 2 batteries in total one on the left and another on the right. If pictures will help please let me know).

So in short does anyone know where I can find two batteries that will fit my 1971 911s Targa?

And if pictures help please let me know and I'll get some up asap.

Thanks so much guys! I can't wait to get this thing to it's new home!

Jared

It's possible to use one battery instead of the two original ones, just needs some additional wiring.
6Speed is a great forum for new Porsches, but you really need to jump on "early 911 registry". Another very informative forum for early 911s is "Pelican" and also "Rennlist".

You might want to give Stoddard Porsche a call.
