Considering an 87 Targa

Hey Guys,
Im thinking about getting an 87 Targa G50 with about 90,000 miles? Any thoughts? Im just looking for reviews on these cars from those that have owned them or still currently own them today.
Should I be looking at a coupe instead? Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

You can't really go wrong with any of the 3.2 range, they are a bullet proof 911.

I personally prefer the lines and look of the coupe and I really enjoy stretching the car through the twisty roads, with my previous cabrio you could feel a little bit of chassis flex when pushed. That being said I've never driven or owned a targa, so this may not be an issue. I did enjoy those days of roof open driving though ;)

Also, don't be afraid of the earlier 84-86 cars. People will rave on about the G50 box, but if you can find an early car with a sorted 915 they are just as rewarding and drive well. I actually went back to an 85 after owning 2 88's.

At the end of the day it comes down to your preference and the type of driving you will do. Good luck with what ever you choose and as I said earlier you can't go wrong with a 3.2
