Is it a joke???? 991 Turbo Facelift...
Hi guys !
Can somebody tell my what's going on?

http://teamspeed.com/articles/911-tu...ossibly-works/
My new 991 2014 Turbo S is on order (delivery January) and they already planning a facelift as an 2015 model?
What the F**K? My car cost 250 k euro here in Poland and I'm really angry that after few months it will be an old model?

Don't expect a facelifted Turbo before 2016, maybe even 2017. These mules always drive around for testing new components.
They still need to introduce the Targa (january 2014), GT3 RS, GT2 RS and GTS before the facelift comes.

Suzy is right...there are a few models still left to come out before a facelift...
However...if you think about it, there was no 997.1 GT2-RS or GTS...so those cars may not come out until the 991.2 if history repeats itself.
But...if I had to guess...I'm gonna throw a really wild theory out there as my official guess since we've seen a few of these test mules floating around lately. 4 cylinder turbo. Yup...4 cylinder turbo. If you think about it, Porsche's new LMP1 car is rumored to have a 4 cyl turbo along with the hybrid powerplant. It's only logical that they're either testing that motor for the race car or for future road car applications. Look at Audi....they may a HUGE branding push when the R10 came out with a diesel engine. Porsche is probably trying to make the same marketing move. That's my .02¢

Doesn't look any different to the untrained eye. The big reason I'm buying my 991 is because I fell in love with the look. Who cares about next gen. Just like most 997 owners, they love their cars' look and couldn't care about the 991.

991 facelift, a bit too early to confirm, but earliest is end of 2014 calendar year, latest is Q3 2015.
Panamera GTS only lasted 1 year before the facelift came out, if I recall.

I think this may be testing for the GTS or the base models, i don't realistically see porsche facelifting the turbo anytime soon considering they just released the model. It would be suicide from a brand loyalty perspective. I would def. reconsider buying porsche again after shelling out 190k on a TTS if this does turn out to be true.

But Porsche has already done it before with the 997...
I won't be surprised if the 991.2 (all variants) will debut as a 2016 model in late 2015.
If you think about it, both 996 and 997 generations had their mid-cycle refresh about 4 model years into production and the Turbo models were always introduced 2 model years before the refresh:
996 first model year in 1998, Turbo in 2000, refresh in 2002
997 first model year in 2005, Turbo in 2007, refresh in 2009
The 991 first model year is 2012, Turbo in 2014, refresh in 2016?
With this logic, expect to see the all new 991 successor 3 years after the refresh - as a 2019 model.

Good article referencing this: http://www.gtspirit.com/2013/12/16/i...-in-the-works/
"UPDATE: It has since been concluded that this is not in fact a facelifted variant of the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo. Our source tells us that this prototype is just continuing to rake up development miles for the current model."
