info about 2014 911 turbo s

Hi everyone...I am hoping to become a first-time Porsche owner in the next month. I have located several vehicles and this one seems to have it all with very low mileage and a fair price. MSRP was 192,740

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks...

That would be an unbelievable first Porsche. Talk about starting at the pinnacle of the 991! Being a 14 it should be discounted more like 10 percent off even with those very low miles; for comparison I got 6.5% off a new 2015 with little effort. I hope you can get into it!

Thanks...I have the cash...just didn't want to take the costly bite on a new one. This one is about $20k (asking price) off MSRP with only 5xx miles. BTW...is the adaptive cruise control the radar type option that detects objects ahead?

The price is too high. This is basically a one year old car now even though the mileage is low. I got mine for $157,000 last month, same MSRP but had $10k in aftermarket add ons with 3k miles. You can get this for $172k at least but it depends on how motivated they are to sell it. If you make a low offer on Moday, they might take it, it's the end of the month. Best time to deal. Yes I think the ACC is radar based, I have it and it's a nice feature.

your 1st Porsche

The car looks great!
It's even better that it's at a Porsche dealer & certified.
When the car is certified your are getting a bonus of warranty over & above the new car warranty. This car has some really desirable options which if you order yourself, you're waiting & will cost you big $.
the Burmeister stereo for instance is fantastic. I've had two 997's with the Bose system & there is no comparison. Adaptive cruise control, etc, it's well appointed. Look at the original window sticker on this thing & go from there with your negotiations. As there's not a lot of used 991 TTS around, it won't last long. Get the dealer to give you report on the DME & make up your mind.
These cars are unbelievable & I just love mine. It's nice to wallop a Ferrari at the track in summer & go to the mountains in winter!

Price is high, you should be able to get that deal on any new car. Being a used car with 500 miles, they should be letting that go at 10 to 12% off MSRP (7% off is typical on new orders)

Thanks for the info. I did not plan to pay their asking price. Excuse my brain, but what is the DME? As a former pilot, I know what it is in an airplane...but not something from a car dealer...LOL.

The DME is the Digital Motor Electronics or ECU (Electronic Control Unit). A DME report can show faults, hours of operation, and range and number of over revs. Missing a gear on downshifting on a manual can lead to major problems on a one time event or from multiple occasions, but on a PDK, the computer isn't going to allow or make a damaging bad shift.

Sounds great. Is this a paid service for the dealer to perform, such as a PPI?

A Porsche dealer can certify a qualifying used car that will add a year to the original 4 year warranty and a bunch of miles, I think it up to 100,000. They do their own PPI and should be able to provide the report. If the dealer cannot certify a car because it doesn't meet certain standards, then definetly ask for a free report on the car. Only pay for a PPI with a DME report when the car isn't being sold by a Porsche dealer.

The cost of certification is like $4k. They offered it to me on my car and I passed. It extends the warranty to 100k and 6 years. I still have the OEM warranty until Sep 2017 or 50k and I will probably be able to buy an extended warranty for less than 4k at 45k miles. I bought mine from the dealer that sold the car new and did all the add-on work to it. I am comfortable that the car wasn't ill-treated and I don't think they would have offered to certify it if it was.

The car listed here is already certified I think so there is that $4k already in the price.

A better car and a better deal...

Unless you are bent on going black you may never go back This is a commitment and not just a color. I think you have a great car but just in case you are not set on blk/blk check out this silver/blue '14 TTS: http://www.worldimportsusa.com/certified/Porsche/2014-Porsche-911-jacksonville-florida-db753a480a0a00e02c3133f8a2a8a012.htm

It has an MSRP of $197,840 although there is about $5700 in leather/stitching options. It has about 900 miles and the asking price is $167,000 without CPO. This is the best optioned 991 TTS out there right now. I would be a fan of the cruise control option if it repelled the car behind me instead of tracking the car in front of me

Yachting blue, wonder how it looks in person? Wow, all that money for stitching and it's totally wasted because someone was color blind. Why pick a color like that and then turn the car in so quickly?

Here is a white on black in your area for a good price with good options and 600 miles

I agree with you. This car is already certified and I just spoke with the dealer by phone and he is sending the PPI/DME to me. With the certification, the warranty will go out to 2019 or 100,000 miles. It does make me feel better about spending this kind of money with that kind of warranty coverage. I doubt I could ask them to "uncertify" it...LOL. But, I still would not pay their asking price.

BTW...thanks to all who have commented for me. I feel much better prepared for this shopping event.

Exactly and now you know what they have in the price for that part. You should be well prepared to drive a better bargain with them. You can see there are other options out there and when they know you are aware of that, they will probably be more wiling to deal on it.
