Installed my Sharkswerk Exhaust yesterday
 

Sharkwerks Exhaust Installation: this is my opinion based on what I experienced.

On Saturday, Sept 19 I took my 991 TTS to Toyota of Melbourne (owned by a friend) and with help, installed my Sharkswerk Exhaust.

Pros: Sounds GREAT, so much better than the OEM box. Was worth the effort and would do it again. Discovered a non-related issued and repaired.

Cons: took 3.5 hours with 2 master mechanics and myself. One was from the Toyota Body Shop, Platinum Works that is Porsche Certified since they do all the county Porsche body repair. It would have been impossible to accomplish this task without removing the bumper. The bumper removal took us 15 minutes. The time consuming part was separating the OEM box from the system. The pipes were literally welded together and twisting, pulling, etc did nothing to loosen break the seal. We had to take the Catalytic Converter bolts out and pull the pipe out. The Mechanic had the special tools needed to get way back on the top back bolts. Then with wood blocks and a sludge hammer were able to break the tight fit on the OEM exhaust pipe.

Once they got the OEM pipe off the rest was easy. The tips had to be resized since they did not fit onto the Sharkwerks pipes. A little stretching made it fit perfectly. I think the next time it would be a 2 hour job but those pipes were almost impossible to separate.

Everything was placed back perfectly with no extra screws lying around. On a side note, the guys noticed that when the Porsche Shop did the Throttlebody recall they did not secure the two hoses and they were barely hanging on. I watched the Porsche mechanic several months ago do the recall replacement and he did not take the bumper off and therefore could never have gotten the hoses properly attached to the air box. With the bumper off it was an easy fix.

Drove home in the dark after we finished and LEOs were everywhere so I never got above 45 mph but it sounded great getting up to speed.

I took some casual home videos of us doing the job yesterday. I am including them just to give an idea of the job.

I would not recommend this to be done alone and without a good mechanic who has many special tools.

I have the Sharkwerks exhaust and love it! Took 4 hours to install.

You are right on the money with the time it takes. Some of the bolts were very difficult to get too, luckily I have mechanic buddies with Snap On tools.

thanks for the effort and support too;) The problem is often the OEM tips are actually compressed/squeezed down so they need to be bumped back up to the original size. If we make the outlets any smaller it'll rob power but the tips can come off over time. They're actually identical size to factory;) Glad you like it!
