991 Stock Turbo 1/4 Mile Record Remains at 10.08
To avoid confusion and give credit where it is due the stock turbo record is and has been a 10.08 set a few months ago.
Just clearing the air of some misinformation about the worlds quickest stock turbo car.
The 10.19 recently posted, although an impressive time, may be the record for that particular part configuration and tuning company but it is not the stock turbo record.
10.08 was run on a car built by Vengeance and tuned by TopSpeed on a COBB Accessport.

Mark's 10.19 is the fastest time I know I'd for the car with stock turbos but no meth. I have the exact same configuration as Mark except for the tires and the car as configured is an absolute animal now.

honesty I forgot about this car so yes my bad it is the the fastest. However If my car had Meth and ran c-16 and Nitrous and it only ran a 10.08 ( and I don't care how hot it was because theres pluses and minus to that ) I would be trying to figure out whats wrong with my car it needs to be fixed. Mitch how many cars were you tuning at Red List? and what was your fastest 991 big turbo/ and stock turbo car there Just curious,
So has this Nitrous car been fixed yet and didn't he blow his Turbos's I can't remember?
Cheers

Mark you truly did have some exceptional times that day. I am not taking that away from you. The post was made for the purpose of clearing false information.
Everyone knows the record setting car had nitrous on it. There is no denying that and it only speaks more to the versatility of the accessport and the ability to custom tune that kind of setup. The customer wanted the fastest 991 in the world at the time with the resources available, period. At the end of the day it still had stock turbos on it. If we start picking and choosing what the stock turbo record is because the mods are "cheating" or not in the normal upgrade path we start down a slippery slope of erroneous records.
Mitch and I both were at Red List supporting four 991s, and two 997.2s. Since all the cars there were hot lapping we were constantly checking datalogs and getting customer feedback. We do this not only to ensure the happiness of the hundreds of 991 turbo customers we have already, but so we can continually evolve our products to remain the tuning solution that the fastest guys choose to use.
All customers running an Accessport yesterday left happy and running at the end of the day, with an overall 2nd place finish(Nigel) and new 997.2(Chris) world's fastest trap record to boot.

Here is a picture of puppies. Something a bit more positive as it always ends negative in these threads.
Happy Sunday. Hope everyone has a good day and enjoys their cars as that is the point.

So... If you blow your turbos is it an expensive mess to put right or is there no other damage caused by this? What makes a 'week' turbo and why would stock turbos not be able to cope with the extra oomph? Are oem turbos that inferior to aftermarket ones?
That's truly phenomenal! Congrats on that. It's almost unreal how fast these cars can be in the quarter! Not to mention the ability to do a event, leave, and have the car drive just as smooth as stock on the way home.
