Wrapping a GT3.... Is it a good idea

I just saw a white GT3 in white ... It had a few decals .. One of them ran across the bottom of the doors .. It was a stripe about 4 inches thick in light gray color and a thin yellow line underneath it and it read " PORSCHE GT3" . The other one ran up the middle of the hood but this one had a thin yellow line on both sides ... I found these decals to be ABSOLUTELY EYE CATCHING.. Now , getting back to the main issue " Wrapping ". I am not one to be in favor of this . This gt3 had a " transparent wrap and I could see a few tiny bumps on it .. But even if it perfect I can't see myself wrapping my turbo .. How do you guys feel about this ?

What's the cost for that process ? And what's the cost to remove it ?

Wrapped my whole car completely with expel plus. The company also ran the wrap inside the doors and all the seams to give the seamless look. The cost was 3400.00 I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago were owning a car like this is no big deal. The issues is when I go into the city for dinner or such a potential hater may decide to key the car when I'm not there to supervise. Most of my buddies that keep there cars for a couple of years do this. In fact my friend just got a voodoo blue GT3 RS that he just had completely wrapped. Call it an insurance policy??

Wrapping or Xpel won't stop key damage. It may limit it, but you'll still have damage.

I may eventually wrap my turbo S, key thing is finding a reputable place. I would only at this point trust detailing dynamics. They also insist that if they apply the wrap and in the future take it off, the original paint is not affected.

Did the entire car in clear Xpel Ultimate as soon as it was delivered.

My life (and my family's life) seems to beat up my cars paint. I've done a full paint correction on my E63 twice, and its only at 45k miles.

If you plan to keep the car for a long time, like I do (10+ years), it seems like a must-do.

Detailing Dynamics just did my 650... they do phenominal work... highly recomend Eddie and Matt. They are beyond profesional and go out of their way to make the customer happy and satisfied.

i know little to nothing about wraps. what i do know is i bought a turbo that had a lambo flat orange wrap on it. the3 install was sub par but the main thing i saw was the car was left outside for a period of time due to the previous owner passing away. the dirt from sitting outside seemed to etch itself onto the wrap and wouldnt come off. while wrenching on the car any place you touched with greasy hands seemed to stay in the wrap . i tired everything down to comet to clean it up. nothing worked.
that clinched it for me. maybe it was the flat color material i dont know just my experience

This Might Be The Coolest Porsche 911 GT3 RS Livery Ever

Share on Facebook 3120Share on Twitter Will this start a new trend? Wealthy supercar owners are always finding different ways to make their supercars stand out, but this wrap has to take the cake. We’ve seen Porsches wearing Martini liveries before, but none have looked like this. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is wearing a Martini wrap that looks like it has been battered by time. Despite being brand new, the supercar look like it’s been through hell and back and we love it.

What makes this wrap even cooler is that it was a global effort. The design came from California-based artist Kepple, while the base vinyl was delivered from France. The installation was completed by Stockholm-based specialist WrapZone, which makes sense since the supercar belongs to a Swedish customer. Apparently, there are other cars out there that have similar liveries, but it looks absolutely gorgeous on the 911 GT3 RS. There’s no word on how much this wrap costs, but having a one-of-a-kind supercar is priceless.
