My Car's Drag Race Videos from Last Weekend's Corsa America Dragon 2017 Rally

My car's drag races at Cherokee Dragway during Corsa America Rally - Dragon 2017:

RedGutz's drag races at Cherokee:

DA was 2457 feet and strip was a a poorly prepped 1/8 mile. Car was the only car on the rally to be in the 6s in the 1/8 mile.

Car never hooked very well with all that new power from the turbo upgrade in the pilot super sports on the back and the dragstrip was not well prepared. Couldn't run the rear R888s in a rally largely consisting of twisty roads with different tires on the front.

Go RedGutz!

I wished I had some competition to make it close. I might've lost to a stock or less modified turbo S as the car was having problems launching

Congrats Scott. Curious about the r888s in the back - a lot of guys here are running them with OEM tires on the front. For most cars I would think differnt tires might be an issue but the 911 design with so much weight in the back plus the fact that ours are highly modified - I don't think it would be an issue but will report back as mine get installed next week.

It certainly wouldn't be an issue mixing tires like that and running in a straight line race or in regular highway driving. But really wouldn't want to do hundreds of miles of twisty road driving with uneven traction in the front and rear

Great Job Scott, as usual nothing can touch a stock 991 off the line, and your modded 991 makes em all look like they are standing still!

Thanks. I do believe a stock or lightly modded 991 Turbo S would have beat me due to lack of traction on launch. My best 60 foot was a lousy 1.66 seconds. On its previous mods at Atco with Pilot Super Sports the car could do very low 1.5s

Scott,
we are spoiled with the launches of our 991's your comment of a lousy 1.66 60ft is hilarious, most cars owners would be jumping up and down going crazy if they were able to break into the 1.6x's. Just look how your lousy 60ft time destroyed everyone else even other awd vehicles.

I agree 100%. 1.66 seconds is a great 60 foot time just not for this car. Nothing in the competition was able to get out of the hole like the turbo S. Still I do believe a less powerful one would've beat me given my tire and power situation.

It was a lot of fun. Our cars pretty much destroyed anything else on the dragstrip short of dedicated drag cars

hehe not the only ;)

I ran 6.9 in my friends white stock turbo 991TT-S. We got there around 7 and ran till 8.

This had to be the worst drag strip I have ever seen lol.

Yeah I left about 630 because of a friend's 50th birthday party. During the time I was there there were no other 991 Turbos. With the extra power I have I was really struggling to launch at all. Definitely needed better tires than pilot super sports. Yes it was the narrowst, worst prepped roughest dragstrip I have run on -- conditions that gave the 911 Turbo a big advantage over other cars
