Removing or lower of glove instructions?
im trying to install my dash cam and need access to the glove box. Spent the last hour trying to remove or lower without success. Basically need to get a few wires into the glove box where the battery back up is.
anyone have a diy?

Didn't drive it much but it was always on a tinder. Turns out the power magic wasn't suppose to be used on certain MY cayennes eventhough I had it on several other cayennes and 911s. Long story short Porsche wouldn't cover it under warranty since my miles were to low within a 12 month period.
Dont want to the chance and the battery back is plug n play. Since I couldn't figure out how to access the glove decided just to move it to the passenger foot net and everything works/looks fine.

That's a of work for nothing. The simple solution, one of a few actually, is to use the lighter plug under the glovebox. You run the wire under the headliner, and down the A-pillar, without having to remove anything. You don't need any tools for this.
That lighter plug is only on during ignition and your camera can't drain power while the vehicles is off.
I just installed a Garmin Dash Cam 65w with a parking cable, which I hardwired to the panel at the lower passenger side well. That cable allows the camera to stay on and record for up to 12 hours with the car off, then shuts down - keeping your car battery intact.
Neither installation requires you to remove the glovebox. You have constant and ignition wiring in that location, as you need.
Battery backup, if your intent is to keep the camera running while the vehicles is off, will eventually die as well over time.
I have sold hundreds of thousands of dash cams in the past few years...and am trying to understand what you want to do.
What exactly are you trying to achieve?

keep it out sight. It's now sitting in the passenger footwell net which looks okay but I prefer it to be hidden as much as possible.
I use the battery pack so the dash cam is still active when parked and as stated before to not drain the cars battery.
The cable you are referring to, how does it know when the cars battery is low to shut off or does it go off a timer? I'm running blackvue units on all of my cars and used their power magic unit in the past that deactivate the camera once the cars battery drops to certain voltage but as stated before it didn't work as intended on my 958.2 Cayenne so I switched to the battery packs.

The Garmin parking cable only allows the device to stay on for a maximum of 12 hours after engine shutdown.
I get why you want the camera on full time, but there are reasons I don't use that. With the Garmin parking cable, the unit records ONLY on impact & motion detection. Your SD card has a finite number of read/ writes...and it doesn't make sense to me to have my device recording when there's nothing going on, wasting battery and SD card.
My cars sit in my garage when not being driven. They will never or rarely see an overnight parking outside of my garage, so 12 hours of recording is enough for me.
My trucks - also equipped with cams, will sit in the driveway, but I have video surveillance out there, so I don't need constant dash cam running there either.

How about strapping the Cellink onto the side of the car battery? You can run the wires from the cabin to the car battery compartment using the grommet hole under the driverside footwell. Very easy to do.

Thanks for the help but I think I'm good with the current location. It would have been nice in the glove so it would be out of sight but no big deal.
