992 911 First Impressions
How do others feel about the looks of the 992?
I really do not like the strip light across the entire back. Also, the car is too smooth and feminine from the back. The only thing I think is cool is the 21" wheels in the rear. Even worse, I dislike the interior. I particularly dislike the new shift **** and the cupholder. The cupholder is the first thing you notice when you see a picture of the interior of the car. Also, as with the BMW, I dislike using one control for everything. I like buttons for quick, easy access. My only hope is the turbo is more aggressive (by a lot) on the outside. The inside.. not a fan at all. I may keep mine longer than expected and/or consider another car for the first time in more than a decade.

Dont like the light strip in the rear as well. Cayenne and Panamera now have that look and it's not my cup of tea. Jury is out on the interior but it looks like the center console has the finger print city panel like the Cayenne and Panny.

Folks will eventually accept its new look as it continue to morph into the next generation. The deciding factor whether it'll be accepted or not is the overall driving dynamics, price, not much.

This car makes our turbo/s, which ridiculously criticized for being "soft GT cruiser" (That can "cruise" faster in most tracks than your GT3 and .1 GT3RS), like a stripped down war machine, so that's good.
This 992 shouldn't be consider as comparison to the turbo/s until the 992 turbo/s is here.
Also, One should not simply "accept the new generation", look what happen to the 996 and the return of the manual GT3, those guys listen.
With the 992 they gone retro, front is 993 (love it), back supposed to mime the big red reflector saying "PORSCHE" that has been there at the SC era and more (I think they should have take it farther and put a thicker line).
This particular s/4s is not to my taste, to say the least. And it's not because i am "grumpy" the replacement which dated my car is here. Biggest problem this car sits higher! while Ferrari lowering and making the car wider (or just lowering so it will look wider and aggressive) Porsche did the opposite. Also, the 21 at the back, look like its a wagon with bigger wheels at the back (unlike the 21 on the 991 RS's which was force in there, leave no room to put another finger and look aggressive).
As said, Got to wait for the special models (turbo/s and GT3) to judge, this car is irrelevant.
As to the interior- you can't use a 20 years old computer, you can easily use 20 years old analog watch.
