My ES750RS vs Dragtimes McLaren 720S

All about my 1 of 1 build with ES/AIM Performence and a drag race with Dragtimes McLaren 720S.

What...a...car!!!

Keep in mind the car came off the dyno in 30*F weather in NJ and straight to the track in 80+*F weather in FL with only 1 log in-between. Can’t wait to actually dial it in.

Can’t thank ES & AIM performance enough for this build! Enjoy the video!

(Skip to the 6 minute mark to get to the action)

Wow that thing is really moving!
What tire pressures you running? The 1.4 60’ Impressive!
Did you have it in sports firm suspension mode?

I was shopping for a 720 S but changed my mind after seeing this, lol! amazing!
not the fastest out there but I think it's the complete daily, can run with the big boys, and fun car with awd to boot!
congrats!

Thanks! I was at 31 psi in the rear and 41 in the fronts on every race. I probably should have adjusted as the night went on and the temperatures cooled, but I didn’t.

Sport plus, firm suspension off, TC off, not in manual mode.

If you would’ve driven a 720 you wouldn’t have change your mind. They’re on another level of badassness. Love me some Porsche, but they aren’t on the same level as Mclaren on the wow factor.

720S launches are very impressive for RWD, good runs ! You got the trap to go 9.3-9.4 so there is definitely more in it.

For sure. This was the first time running the car. It went off the dyno in 30* weather right to the track in FL in 80* weather with 1 log to ES. Car isn’t even dialed in yet.

Lots more to come on this car. Stay tuned.

The "wow" factor is why I didn't want a McLaren or a Lamborghini. I want to drive my car, how, where and when I want, without being hassled much. And yet, have the elegance and prestige of the brand.

This is exactly why I picked up the 911. Driving the Huracan around all the time got overwhelming.

It’s REALLY hard the best the overall package and excellence of a 911 Turbo. Love it!

I don't know if you remember that I told you to try and grab the right lane. The track prep on the left lane wears out really fast, and it's less sticky, that's why your launches got worse and his were still OK. Great win with the chips against you, I don't think Dragtimes will be posting that video, lol

You did tell me that and I completely forgot about it!!! Man it was driving me crazy as to why I started spinning more and more as the night went on. Your guess may have been my problem? Others in the right lane certainly weren’t spinning like I was and now it’s starting to make sense. I also never once adjusted the tire pressure so I am sure that didn’t help either.

Anyway, thanks and I’ll certainly remember for next time.

and the quality? The plastic buttons look and feel like a nissan of 30k, that is the part that I cannot digest from Mclaren

I found in my car sport mode firm suspension mode on hooked much better on 1/4 mile with launch control. With it off I found on hard launch the weight transfer to the rear effected the traction in the front tires significatly. Some of the more expericed drag race guys here might chime in here if on or off is better.
