2015 Headlight Lens Restore

As you can see in the pictures, I have small dots (I'm guessing from debris) on my headlight lens. From what installers told me, you can't put PPF on them because of some factory coating. You also can't just replace the lens since it's all one piece and they are about $2,300 each side. Is there a way to fix them? Can you use the headlight restore as you can on older cars? I know the headlight restore typically works on yellowing/cloudy lights, but my issue is different.

I have my headlight lens ppf film done at the same time as the car. 5 yrs now and it still is perfect. And no, not taking the film off. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it.

I have XPEL on my car, but two installers told me NOT to put it on the 991s because of some coating on the headlights from the factory. So, you did it and you have no issues with the film on the lights turning colors?

Your small dots look like debris chips in the plastic. You could try a wet 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper to smooth the surface and then buff with a polishing compound or a headlight repair kit. The factory coating is just that and it will be sanded off. Put a film on afterwards to reduce impact of future chips and to give it UV protection.

Ditto. STEK PPF on headlights with zero issues. I know what installers say about OE coating say but why risk headlight damage. Apply and protect.
