991 Costco pricing

This is probably similar of what one would find at cars.com or edmunds.com .
Regardless, some ammo for you fellas to negotiate with the stealership.

INVOICE X MSRP

Remember, the newer and more desired the car is, less likely for the stealership to have "incentives" (explains sometimes pricing below invoice) or any will to get close to the invoice. Always negotiate from the invoice up, not from MSRP down. Not so sure, it te stealerships will be willing to negotiate on cars not yet built. My guess is by August the MY12 will get some hit once the MY13 show up.
BMW was at least more decent, the new M5 will be a 2013 model.

Sorry about the awful formatting, laziness is on.

Enjoy!

they are 2012 models until august, dont ask me why... i guess they want early adopters to have "last years car" so easy to sell 2013's as well?

not sure in the reasoning..

basically options they get 15% off and cars 10% and 0% on dest charges...

As demonstrated by the Sportauto test car, by the time you add the interior stuff (Burmester stereo!), PDK, adjustable sway bars, PCCB, etc., etc., you add $40k in options! Going to be interesting to see what the used market will be like because there will be a huge disparity in real car value. However, you can actually get a 991 stripped at a "relatively" low price.

Keeping it minimally optioned, one can build a decent 911s for 104 MSRP, 94 invoice. Still a lot, comparing to a M5 that comes already loaded, even optioning with BMW individual choices it wont go far from 92-94. The BMW dealerships are far more flexible dealing with their pricing, probably because they sell far more.
In a different category, or not so much, the new Boxster looks really good...

Keep in mind that the Porsche dealers, while there is a LOT more money in a 911 than a BMW, have pretty much the same expense to operate. They still need a building (design directed by Porsche NA), a sales team, a service team and a parts dept. They also sell less than 10% of the cars that the BMW guys do. they just can't give up all of the money in every 911 and still stay open. As an example I have a new 335i coupe on order, Sticker $53K invoice $50,950. There is about $2050 in this car. By contrast I also have a 991 on order, Sticker $101,620 invoice $90,447. With the $11,173 that is in the 911 you would think that you would get a hugh discount. But if you think about it the Porsche guy doesn't get either the cars from Porsche of the customers to sell 15 911s a week, but the BMW guy can easily do both. these numbers are before any payback to the dealer for high CSI numbers of course.

This is a pretty good reason that the Porsche guy is far less willing to deep discount your 911. The BMW guy can live with $1000 on a car because he sells 20-30 a week. The Porsche guy with roughly the same overhead is lucky to sell 2 in the same time frame.

That's true, making it hard particularly for owned dealerships compared to dealership nets, that can offer more for trade-in because they will sell it themselves.
They can also work with a smaller margin per car and make the difference in the overall numbers, Porsche or not. Not so good for the salesperson that is stuck selling a single brand.

I spoke with 5 different dealers a few months ago before I bought my 997.2 C4S as I was considering getting a new 991. Lets just just say every single dealer was not interested in even talking about any discounts. In fact, Park Place Porsche in Dallas told me to not waste their time calling them as any new 991 would go for MSRP +. Disappointing to say the least, but it did inspire me to get my CPO 997.2 here locally in Houston which saved me exactly $40k off the new car sticker.

I guess if they can get it more power to them, but I remember things like that. I will never buy from Park Place in Dallas in the future simply because of this guys arrogant attitude. My local Porsche got my $85k instead.

Not only that, if you add a trade-in in the deal, they want to profit another 5k minimum at it. I wouldn't mind pay MSRP for a new 991, but at least give me a decent appraisal on my 997.2
I was offered 42k on a car that had a MSRP of 86k in 2009. A BMW dealership offered 55 (another 2knegotiable if one pushes).
