Anyone's build beng finalized this week?
My build is in quality control now and a VIN is supposed to be issued within the next day or two. My dealer indicates that the system cannot tell which vessel it will be loaded on. Do you know how to get this information? Is anyone else in the same timing and will know which vessel their car will be loaded onto?
Thanks! |
My build is finished tomorrow

My build is supposed to be completed on March 5. I will post as soon as I have a VIN. Sounds like my car is just behind you on the assembly line. What did you build?

Great build
I am just learning how to use the site and will load my build soon. Yours is great. It should be a blast.
I have a 991S coming with PDCC, Chrono, PASM, PDK, PVT - most of the bells and whistles other than the Burnmeister, the ceramic breaks, and the enhanced sound. I am getting the standard 20" wheels painted platinum. The car is platinum silver with full leather interior in Carrera red. I had them add black leather inserts to the seats and the doors just to break it up a bit. Should look nice, but I have second guessed myself on that a lot. I would be happy to post about the boat. But how do you get that info? |
I heard on RL that your dealer can tell you which boat it is on. My dealer doesn't think so. We'll soon see.

Congrats to you as well! What's your build? It sounds like we may be on the same vessel. When you find out which yours is on, can you let me know? I will do the same.

That's a handsome build you have there. Not cheap I am sure. Found every thing except parking assistance. But you must not need any.

After driving a similar car yesterday, my only "regret" is not adding Burmester. Oh well, maybe next time...

Anyone out there know how to get info on your car being shipped? Boat name, location, port of entry, etc?
|
Rennlist - another forum.

Thanks. New guy. I just started my first thread asking about tracking onto the ship, etc. we can both find out. My dealer said my car will come into Rhode Island. I know others have entered the US in a souther port (Ga?). I live in Jersey so R.I. makes sense. Where yours comes in may vary with where you live.
How is the RL site - have never been? |
My dealer emailed me on March 2 to let me know that my car went on board the ship; the dealers obviously have a way to track cars that they have ordered. Surprisingly, I only received my VIN number on February 28 - which is when I was told that the car was manufactured. According to my dealer, it is usually a one or two weeks before a manufactured car goes on the ship - just depends upon timing and availability of a ship.
All cars for the northeast (I am in Connecticut) now go through Rhode Island. The dealer also told me that the RI port takes longer to get the cars to them than the previous NJ port - they were not happy about that situation. I can only speculate the reasons why. My sense is that the dealers only know certain things such as when their PO is finalized, the actual manufacturing date, the day it goes on the ship, the day it arrives at the US port, and of course the day it arrives at their dealership. Hope this helps. |
