Thumbs up 991 GT3 with PDK

I guess there is no doubt that the 991 GT3 will be available with PDK!

If you listen to the clip you can clearly hear that this car is with PDK. What a monster, can't wait to feel it

IMO PDK is future, no need for manual, track or DD, PDK will be best choice. I got 6 speed in my tt, and I can't wait to get the new 991 with PDK.

thigos is infamous around these parts
Here are some more earlier videos of the 991 gt3, where you can hear the pdk shifts...

heres a pic of the car clearly showing a paddle

Im really glad there will be a pdk gt3. I never thought i would say that, but after having the pdk 991, I think its a no brainer

Also, here is a vid of an RS and maybe a cup car!! Listen to those freakin shifts

I really hope so. Some of us actually enjoy the art of driving. You're going to get faster times at the track with a PDK but its no substitute for a 3 pedal tranny. Might as well have a traction control system where all you do is mash the gas pedal and the car will break for you. All you do is steer and press a button to shift so you feel like you're somewhat involved.

You are correct, people with dual clutch transmissions should ride the bus because they dont enjoy the "Art of Driving". Heel/toe-ing is the only way to properly enjoy a car. Just ask Sebastian Vettel

All my previous cars have been 6 speeds and I never thought i would be an advocate of flappy paddle cars, but Ive joined the dark side. That being said, I too hope that they offer both transmissions (especially in the n.a. GT variants). Sorry for the rant

I think that they will offer both - happy to see that. I just ordered a 4 door sedan in MT so hope to also add a GT3 at some point - will most likely back out of the C4S.

Sure, we lost all sense of 'art' since pilots are not flying Spitfires anymore and since we have synchronized gearboxes. Same thing with doctors and all their MRI's and sophisticated gizmo's. Nothing like a good amputation with a saw

OK, I stop ranting too. There is a lot of fun in a manual gearbox and in PDK. There is no need to be dogmatic or aggressive about this, let's just share our enthusiasm instead of getting into a testosterone contest

Back to the thread topic, I agree that a GT3 with PDK will make sense and could well be my next move

Well be awesome for those that would not buy a manual. Some folks have flat out admitted that they fear the money shift in a manual.

Funny, I am doing the opposite... I have a PDK and have now ordered a manual... Auto disconnects the driving experience imho.

For the track I get it, however my previous 911 was a 997 C4S tiptronic, it was slower then PDK and manual, but I drove the car a lot more than I drive my 997tt manual, all because of the hassle of manual in traffic.

Today the PDK is a faster shifter then the manual plus you get the pleasure of just cruising through traffic without working the clutch, those 2 reasons is why I decided to order the 991S PDK, and let the 997tt go. If my tt had PDK I would probably have waited until the GT3 or new tt was here.

Anyway it is fun to drive manual, I just want to combine the fun with less work.
